Is anyone here interested in selling option calls or puts?  With source code release coming up it's a good way of securing some guaranteed income and protecting a position.

I for one would love the opportunity to leverage my investment more efficiently in order to purchase the NXT amount I really want. That said however, someone would need to cover leveraged orders in order for this to work. Which would mean a pool of NXT to cover trades. If you created this I think NXT would blow up, and also acquire outside commercial interest.

Nothing gets the capitalist's mouth drooling more thank the ability to leverage transactions. Also lends a sheen of legitimacy as any commodity that has options has to one worth observing.

I'm probably going to try to sell Bitcoin calls and puts through the decentralized market when colored coins are implemented. I don't know exactly how the colored coins will work, but here's what I'm hoping to do:

1. I'll prove ownership of a Bitcoin or NXT address with the correct amount of coins by signing a message
2. I'll sell an option as a colored coin, and this is traded in the decentralized market
3. If the option owner elects to exercise the option they'll have to trust me. This is a problem, but I think it can work. And also the price of the option would reflect this fact.

I don't think there is a way to trade options decentralized since crypto transfers by nature are irreversible and not enforceable.  Here are some end of january options I'd be interested in.  I would buy calls .8-.9 strike price.  Also willing to sell calls .5-.6 strike price.

I'm agree with it. Even on bitcoin untill don't have vanilla option, have only binary, but binary option is very risky game. For trade vanilla option on NXT need the centralization agent, for example - any of exchnge, who must have money of a participant's trading and ececuted correct count the variation margin with following distribution beetwen them.
May be, for start need begin flexible option.
And peoples, how you want to count IV and price for option? For me it's really interestingly. )

I'm interested in seeing if this kind of thing can work in the decentralized asset exchange. Obviously I would need to keep the amounts small.

Could the coloured coins be used to start a hedge fund that sells futures on assets?
So I'd sell red coins for the hedge fund. That fund buys blue and green coins from assets.
I'd then resell the blue and green coins in future packages.

There'd have to be a coloured contract coin for that I guess.
A coin that enforces a sale of a blue/green for red coin at a certain date.
