Hello, I'm starting 3d work for the great Nxt community.
Hope it will help to promote Nxt in articles and readers will see how real Nxt is . Please let me know your ideas or corrections.
I will add more graphics here.

Hi! Nice coin you did! I am also going to create something 3D for NXT. But corncern to your coin - don't do coins))) NXT - is the money of the future, we should't make a parallel with old ancient coins. I think, it could be better to invent something futuristic, like this - http://www.newscientist.com/blog/space/2007/10/space-money.html - I don't promote this stuff, actually, I whish to underline that we have to be oriented only on future.

The old coin design could help common people in their confusion about cryptocurrency. However the idea about futuristic coin design sounds good too.

Like I said over at BTT: just add colour and bunch them together and it's the perfect representation of COLORED COINS concept of NXT.

But in general: all we need is the logo of NXT. So if you want to play around with that, please do. The more the better

These are the best renderings of any crypto currency I've seen.

Are you creating this 3D coin in Illustrator? Photoshop? After Effects?

Can you share the project file so we can collaborate on it?

Love it very good. But shouldn't NXT a gold coin ?

I like that little scratches! Very natural look! IMHO, gray color is better than widely used gold, much more realistic.

Can you produce series of images with coin rotating on horizontal axis?
I mean series of PNG's or TIFF's (with lossless compression), around 25 frames (or 50 if you have design for another side of coin) with at least HD size (720 pixels height, 1080 will be better).
This can be used in promotional videos.

Tai Zen: It is created in 3ds max, rendered in mental ray, textures and postproduction in Photoshop. I think it would be mess to share this project. If you have some request, I will work on the coin.

utopianfuture: Yes, I could test gold one too.

ImmortAlex: I plan to do it, it will take some time.

I like colored coin idea!
Do you create it in 3ds or in photoshop? I mean, have you some layered image (psd of tiff) where color can be changed "in right way", not by post-production color correction?

Thank you very much for your donation! It is 3d model changed for concrete rendering and postproduction in photoshop. In case I will have some final version, I could prepare some custom colours in layers. However there was demand in bitcointalk to create complete different design and materials. This one was based on official coin and logo.

Do the colored coins ones and put them next to eachother so we can use it for COLORED COINS promotion. I think it would be very slick looking

I don't think we'll ever have a "official" NXT presentation, except for the logo. Everyone is allowed to use it the way they want in promotion, but yeah stear clear of coins for average promotion because we don't want to be labeled as a "altcoin".

Love the render. As someone above me said, it's definitely one of the best coin renders I've ever seen.
I've already mentioned Titanium and steel textures in the BTT thread, and CfB came in with Palladium.
How much work is it for u to make a couple of examples with those textures?

On the subject of the whole "-coin" thing, the concensus seems to be that we need to position/describe NXT as both a crypto-currency (in it's first form) and an eco-system built on that currency (as NXT evolves into whatever BCNexts plan is...)
So we have been trying to move away from the "Nextcoin" tag. (He says, on a forum called nextcoin.org  )

But, on the other hand, the concept of "-coin" is easier for some people to get. And it is a very cool image.

Ideas mode: maybe u can develop it further as a sort of future-coin. Think coin/computer chip mash-up, or the hexagon idea from the BTT forum. MC Escher coin, industrial chain/sprocket coin

Any one else with ideas/feedback?
