Dogecoin Community Helps Send Indian Team to Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics. They have raised more than $7000 in DOGE to send Indian luge contender Shiva Keshavan to Sochi. The goal of 4 million DOGE was reached in just three hours, with hundreds of donors and one anonymous 3 million DOGE donation.
Shiva Keshavan has no personal coach and has to rely almost entirely on private donations. The Indian Winter Olympics team was suspended last year by the International Olympic Committeem wich would have made it incredibly difficult to Keshavan to compete this year.

Personally, I think it is too early for us to do things like this: we can use money for better things like development and promotion for distribution (cfr paying peoples flight tickets and hotels to meetings and conferences and to meet with people we need at the moment). Also I don't think we need that same image: the Dogecoin community is seeing itself a bit as William Tell: they are funny, they are helping people in need, they are one big community, but they don't appear serious to me...
I think NXT needs to have a more serious image, as we promote ourselves as being the next generation coin. I don't know if we have been thinking already on how we will present ourselves to the world, what image we will stick on ourselves?
