The richest 1% of the planet could control from now and forever all that each of us sees the Internet. This would mean that the apocalypse of the network as we know it , and erase map devised the democratic promise that the founders of the web to build a platform of information accessible to everyone .

Our community has helped fuel the dream. Together we have used the web to fight corruption , saving lives and providing our citizens to support countries in difficulty . But U.S. and EU are about to allow the wealthiest corporations offer their content faster or slow while imposing the barriers of all those who can not afford to get these benefits . This would jeopardize , for example , the ability to disseminate recorded by Avaaz citizen journalists from Syria or launching campaigns to save our planet images.

Decisions are already taking both sides of the Atlantic . But technology pioneers , defenders of freedom of expression, and some of the most prominent web companies are fighting back. If millions of us joined them now, we can create the greatest appeal of the story in favor of a free and democratic Internet . Sign now and spread the word .
