Initially I haven't read the blog post, but when I did, I've literally made facepalm.

Misinformation should be treated seriously, I think BCNext hasn't chosen quote from "1984" without the reason...

There's seems to be an issue. I'm looking at my node and the current weight is more than 140,000 and use version 0.6.0. PeerExplorer.com shows me this

235   nxtio.org   69.163.47.183   0.5.11   nxtio.org   0   4   860   United States   Online

How much time takes to update?

The system scans every 60 minutes. PeerExplorer still uses version 0.5.12

There are three new versions  0.6.0 , 0.6.1 , 0.7.0e released in less than 20 hours. The new api documentation looks really promising and there were also changes in it. I dont know yet maybe there are issues now. We will see. I decide in next days what version PeerExplorer is running and maybe have to change some stuff.

Thanks for your inside.

Have you not seen any of the critical warnings on all 5.x versions? Everyone really should upgrade to 6

No one is forcing anyone to install new clients.

There are still people using debian 5.0, 6.0 and windows xp?

Its the freedom of choice i like opticalc. So if i want to beta test the new versions, i will do that. Do you think the exchanges are updating every 5 hours there client version without checking it?
They could lose money like hell doing so.

Show me tech explanation. If you can. It is not bad to be wrong if that provides me with new knowledges. I think we have only two persons why can technically explain or dismiss that idea is ricot and Jean-luc who can provide that kind of information. Even if possibility of attack is low. It should be fixed. I don't believe to that fat trustworthy nodes.

I think this will be my last answer in this thread, but first quote from the blog:
Quote
Nxt client receives and believes only to clients with high weight in network.
And only one quote comes to my mind: "This isn't right, This isn't even wrong".

Everything shows, that You didn't even bother to verify claim above.
  • ANYONE can get NXTs, (either from faucets, or from donors - that's how I get my initial ones, rest I BOUGHT)
  • ANYONE can hallmark their node
  • default PUSH and PULL threshold == 0 !!!
  • unless you change the threshold, there's NOTHING in NRS, that would make it favour one nodes over others
  • even with PULL/PUSH threshold levels set, USUAL fork-resolution mechanism applies

Quote
And I noticed that tendency too. We believe only to most richest nodes in network and that nodes produce blocks and transaction information to all network

This sentence doesn't have any sense at all. HOW did you came to conclusion, that these nodes PRODUCE BLOCKS?! MAKE YOUR RESEARCH!

Quote
If node with 15 millions will provide changed transaction history old other nodes will believe to it
This is JUST dumb. Do you actually believe anyone would implement something like that? (that was rhetorical question)
READ THE SOURCE, stop spreading FUD:
https://github.com/stevedoe/nxt-client/

Quote
And main joke that I am not really sure that transaction history file is the same exactly.
Oh you poor soul, leave the crypto currency world, before it's too late for you
(or READ the source, you'll find things that actually denies, what you've stated in this quote)

Quote
History is history and always easier to re-download new transactions and blockchain then determine that transactions history is the same.

But you ARE aware, that every peer VERIFIES the history, ARE YOU?

Your whole blog entry is wrong on SO MANY LEVELS, that it's just hard to point them all. You really need to re-educate yourself abount NXT
(and basing on your blog entry, actually any other crypto currency too...)

edit: forgot link to source
Main idea of mine is that nodes with high trustworthy can spoof changed blockchain or transaction history to other nodes. And because network has priority to that nodes data that they provide will be qualified like real data even if other nodes with lower trustworthy ignores them. And that is human-factor, issue. It is easier to other people to redownload (and it will be received from high ranked nodes with biggest nxt amounts on them) then be incompatible with more trustworthy nodes. If we plus endless clients updates it is easy to spoof corrected data to low-end nodes because is easier for people to redownload data then approve or detect history changes will old and new one. From client version 0.6.0 history store format was changed and who ever guaranty that history will be equal all time. Be receiving data from most trustworthy nodes mostly. And their priority in network guaranty as that they always have mostly correct data. If your will always be on old client version your will lost compatibility with network or from some block and also you will be blacklisted or maybe hacked in future. So in anyways we have to many trustworthy to fat nodes. And we can't guaranty that they will be always good for us. That is the main idea.

<proof that he doesnt know what hes talking about>

wow, dude you really need to go back to the concept of BTC itself, and understand exactly what a blockchain is, before you try to come in here and tell us that you understand NXT.  NOBODY can sign a transaction to be included in the block unless they have the passphrase/privateKey.
