Why should I invest in NXT?
« on: December 03, 2013, 07:25:37 PM »
I have trouble explaining NXT to my friends/family/workers. How would you guys explain to your friends/family/workers why they should invest in NXT. To my knowledge, all 1 Billion coins are already mined and distributed with founders. 75 Founders so each around 13.333 million each. Why should they invest in a premined coin?

To my knowledge these 75 founders invested their BTC to get a share of the coins from the genesis block. So the coins had a fix price. There is nowhere the prices would go but up because so little people have them. Also, these shareholders host their own NXT giveaways and the coins get distributed.

The term pre-mine needs to go away when discussing a true PoS coin. There's a major difference between PoW junk coins pre-mining before everyone else gets to mine vs a PoS coin where coins are generated from existing coins. Those that wanted to take the gamble got in on the genesis block (I'm not one of them).. if they are smart, they should be everything possible to make sure it spreads.

Nxt is a Second Generation Cryptocurrency. I posted the following in another thread.

Agreed, it will take a while for others to see a decent profit.  Those genesis block investors have about 50M each.

I think you will be surprised at how quickly the price for Nxt can increase in the time leading up to the more official launch of Nxt in early 2014. If people involved with cryptocurrencies in general have learned anything it is that you want to be an incredibly early adopter when it comes to speculation and investment.

Knowing what you know now about Bitcoin for example, would you have invested during the first days, weeks and months after the network launched? When 1 Bitcoin was worth less than 1 cent?

Bitcoin had the first-mover advantage against first generation cryptocurrencies.

Nxt now has the first-mover advantage against second generation cryptocurrencies.

Use this information wisely.

As an exercise, try and compare Nxt to Bitcoin. Ask yourself is Nxt better than Bitcoin at each point of the comparison. If you and your friends decide that it is then you know what to do.
