Scammer Report - It IS possible to get scammed! Dont let it happen to you!

I sent Bybitcoin (I just verified with the real one on Bitcointalk, that wasn't him) 1 BTC earlier this morning and he vanished. While not the end of the world for money, still stings. I was racing out the door to head to work, I should have verified against the legit account first on Bitcointalk. My fault, just letting others know.

Repeat, this isn't Bybitecoin on Bitcointalk.

VERIFY the person is who they claim to be if claiming to be from another board!  VERIFY any trading references!  DONT assume just because a trading reference works out that you are safe!  It could be a shill account!

Not really.  you will have to verify on the other board if they are indeed the same person.  and then you will need to decide if you trust them based on their rep on that other board.

e.g. if lophesuicire from this forum proves that he is lophie from bitcointalk.org ban lophie

It's not only confusing but dangerous, if someone comes in with a Hero-Member name from bitcointalk and starts here!

And of course, you shouldn't have to track that, but if we have a scam report, like the lophie-case or the Bybitcoin-case, why not get the proof, and ban the imposter (whichever it might be). Otherwise every user (even the most vulnerable newbies) has to do a lot of verification before trading or communicating.

yes ive been banning the obvious frauds like that. well ive been trying, please everyone use the report button on scammers' post and write up a quick summary for me and ill take care of it.
