[Alpha-Version]User Friendly Client [Windows]

Inside are two pre-written bat files that need no modification to run. Instructions are included. This should be a "one-click" process. One starts the client and navigates to https://127.0.0.1:7875, the other kills the program.

This was compiled on a virtual windows server and is not polished yet, which is why there is "Alpha" in the title. It worked on my computer, however it may not work on yours.

Oh, yeah, JRE is also included if it already isn't installed on your computer...

Please give me some feedback on it, I need to know whether the resources show up as hidden -- and if the GUI has any formatting issues.

Nice work!

I just installed this on my Windows 8 virtual machine and it works like a charm.

Cosmetically, I think more specific names for the Zip files might be helpful (e.g. NxtClient_0319e.zip)... but the instructions are relatively clear and this is much easier to use than the "manual" installation.

The only other thought I have is that Windows 8's built-in security will try to block the server when it runs for the first time, so users will have to ALLOW the application when prompted.

Just thought of one more thing.

Come-from-Beyond has located information on gracefully terminating the Java software.  I see you're using taskkill in your batch file, which is a forceful process termination that could corrupt the blockchain.

He addresses the better method in this thread.

Some remarks before using:

I in my case can not use https://127.0.0.1:7875, I dont know why (firewall maybe) but as average Joe I dont care.

Have changed it to http://127.0.0.1:7874.

and we have still the path to java thing.. you are using... java -jar start.jar

in my case that doesnt work and have to use: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\bin\java" -jar start.jar

if I change all that it works fine.

It did not work for me again.
Tried modifying "Next Client.bat"  file using "C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\bin" -jar start.jar

and Java -jar start.jar also!

none of them worked.

Yeah I would stear clear of this. The creator accused one of the mods here of scamming and fraud out of thin-air and postulated that dgex was in on it.

and what is more this is the same creator as the easy MAC OS X installation.

we have to put that on hold and verify.

I think it is not working on your computer because it was developed for a 64bit system, I'll make a x86 version by the end of the day.

As far as the creator comments go, i'm just being careful, okay man? I have a lot of my own and others money invested into NXT.

Your first post contained no additional information. If you want to make accusations or speculate openly you should always cite sources  immediately. Then we don't have to believe in rumours and hearsay

just tried this on my 64x system,clien working but cant open  https://127.0.0.1:7875,note i also cant open none of the localhost links in nxt. file so same problem for me,really hoped this will work ;(
