How to determine own activity?
« on: December 09, 2013, 03:46:02 PM »
Under active peers we see activity of other peers. How to tell what my client's activity is?
Yesterday I saw one localhost and one 127.0.0.1 entry and assumed they were my own, and wondered why both exist with different numbers, but today I don't see such. Or is that just another glitch in the client UI?

So I updated to 0.3.16 and do see the two localhost and 127.0.0.1 entries again, and again with different values.

Under active peers we see activity of other peers. How to tell what my client's activity is?

Apologies to CFB, but I would quickly go to his public site, check his peers list to make sure I was configured correctly and then log off of his site. He's closed it to outside activity now, so that wouldn't work.

If you'd like to post or PM your IP to me I can tell you what I see on my side.

I enabled my node for a day to let those without local clients to access their accounts.

So I updated to 0.3.18 and deleted peers.nxt the other day and since then I see neither localhost nor 127.0.0.1
Picking some of the peers' port 7874 I see my IP in their peers list, or better said in some lists I see it, in some I don't. In many it looks like my client would be dead, just 300-500 Bytes up/down, but then in one and another there was some activity associated and traffic ongoing now and then, so I assume it actually does something. Would be nice however if there was some indication on the own client's page as well.

And what's the difference between an orange "Address announced" bubble and a grey one? Most on those other hosts' peers lists were grey, including my own IP, my client's list only shows orange bubbles, and blue clouds of course.
