We Need To Show that NEXTCOIN is not just another Scamcoin

People have many questions about Nextcoin that I'm having trouble answering effectively for them.

The first questions many people that I talk to regarding NXTcoin have are

1.  Does it offer anything new?
2. Who are the development team?
3. Is it pre mined?
4. Can I mine(forge) it?

Now I'm having trouble getting anyone to see the positives about Nextcoin with regard to questions 3 and 4?


Please give the most convincing answers to the questions above as they will help allay peoples fears that nextcoin is not a scamcoin.

3. All coins were created in the genesis block.
4. Yes, but you will only get transaction fees, there are no block rewards.

The positive with this is that it secures the network without wasting electricity and processing power.

Point people at [=http://nxtcoin.wikia.com/wiki/The_Nxt_Wikiurl]the Nxt Wiki[/url], which answers most of these questions (see the FAQ).

The exception is the development team question.  That's a little less specific.... but look at BCNext, Come-from-Beyond, and then others who are adding on to the software, like Drexme, wesley, ferment, newname... it's a growing pool.  Expect it to grow, as well, once the source code is released on January 3.

   But I guess you can look at it like this.
Instead of buying tons of GPUs or ASICs to mine for you rack up your electric bill and make your house too hot (believe me i know)
Look at buying coins as buying mining equipment

Great vids and they really help in fairness. I've only got 9 NXT coin but I'll send you 4.5 because you've made an effort to engage with people on issues of concern.
Of the 1 Billion coins, ie 1,000 Million, let's say that the genesis block holders hold back a mere 300 Million NXT and give away the rest they corner 30% of the transaction fees of the network. I'm just pointing that out that such behaviour is NO DIFFERENT to people hoarding scamcoins then dumping them or pre mining coins.
No difference, Zero.

Of the 'giveaways' I've not seen many big ones and that is a real concern as a launch date looms. At this rate a minor % of the total NXT coins will be given away by the genesis block holders and to anybody with a modicum of sense, this can only lead to one conclusion.
