NXT currently supports Mac OS X. Here's the instructions(test in OS X 10.9):
1. Download Java Client from
https://nextcoin.org/index.php/topic,100.msg730.html#msg730(please keep your client updated)
2. Unzip the client file
3. NXT needs jdk 1.7. So open Terminal, type "java -version", if it shows like below(java version is 1.7),
then you're ready to go to step 5.
Otherwise, download jdk1.7 from http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jdk7-downloads-1880260.html and install it.
And then type
export JAVA_HOME=/Library/Internet\ Plug-Ins/JavaAppletPlugin.plugin/Contents/Home
After that, your jdk version should be 1.7. But this can only temporarily change the jdk version, if you want to make permanent change, append that command to the end of ~./bash_profile by commanding
echo "JAVA_HOME=/Library/Internet\ Plug-Ins/JavaAppletPlugin.plugin/Contents/Home" >> ~/.bash_profile
4. cd to the folder of you NXT client. Command
java -jar start.jar
in Terminal, then you should see that the local server starts.
5. Open https://127.0.0.1:7875 ("https" not "http") in your browser and you should see the NXT website.
Pictures will be posted here tomorrow.
