[NXT Watcher] NXT/BTC Chart for Android (Updated 02.02.2014)

OK, let’s stick to the topic: two weeks ago I announced that I am working on an Android app that shows the current NXT/BTC chart based on the trading history from

• DGEX.com
• Bter.com
• Vircurex.com
• NxtChg.com

I also announced that it is my very first Android as well as my very first Java project, so this took a while.

Due to the heavy NXT/BTC fluctuation during the last few days, I decided to public a very first alpha version of my app. I am grateful for ANY kind of feedback, bug reports, feature requests, NXT donations...

I am not a designer at all, so if offer you 1000 NXT if you can create a simple icon that I can use for the app. Just post a preview in this thread and I contact you for forther details if I like it.

Maybe a derivate of the official logo with a simple stock chart in be fore- or background ... however, impress me an earn 1k

Please note:

• The user interface is VERY simple atm and does not reflect how the final app may look like. Just a few buttons to download the trade history and draw the chart.
• Currently the data is not stored on your phone, thus if you kill and reopen the app the trade history needs to be downloaded again. (Just in case you are on mobile data and limited by your provider: 24h data requires approx. 200kB; the overall data 4.5MB)
• The chart is not yet refreshed automatically. Hit the refresh button to get the latest market data.
• As I am not on Google Play yet, you need to allow installing apps from “unknown sources” within the security settings of your Android device (instructions).
  
• Supporting devices with Android >= 2.3.3! Please provide feedback if it's not working!
  
• I added a hardcoded spike filter to improve the legibility of the candlestick chart: Trades with a volume of less than 50 NXT are ignored within the candlestick chart. However, they are NOT ignored at the weighted average trend.

Otherwise I have absolutely no chance to reproduce the problem.

Looks kind of mystic with all the g-men and the heroic coin in the center
I'd prefer a more simple icon, especially if it is used as lauchern icon yours would be a little too much I think.

@anyone interested: the final outcome should be a simple, but meaningful icon that can be used as app laucher icon for android. Maybe also take a look at http://developer.android.com/design/style/iconography.html for some basic design guidelines. It should fit well into an android environment.

At the moment boomtown is also working on it. He sent me a quite interesting first mockup.

Hm, strange. It works on my phone, so dgex semms to be ok.

Can you please provide your device and your android version, and what kind of data connection you have (WLAN, 3G, 2G).
And do you use any kind of security software (anti-virus, firewall, ad-blocker, etc.)?
