Transaction stuck at 5 confirmations
« on: January 13, 2014, 06:38:47 PM »
Hello, I posted this on another forum, but have had no reply:

Active NXT user, but first post here. I believe CFB answered this question at one point, but I am unable to find details. Basically I had a transaction where I sent some NXT to an account, however, the block only shows 5 confirmations. To my understanding, CFB mentioned something about re-broadcasting the transaction but I have yet to find any technical details on how to accomplish this. The block in question is http://87.230.14.1/nxt/nxt.cgi?action=1 ... 0791613969

The weird thing is my client shows 10+ confirmations, but that is the extent. I checked the Wiki as well, but have had no luck on what to do. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Hey,
I have the same problem here, did your transaction pass in the end?
Did you have to do anything?

Here is mine:

I created a new account last night and then upgraded the client this morning to the latest build, now the transaction I sent to open the new account for forging has been stuck at 5 confirms for several hours.

I can see the transaction cleared on my mobile client, where I have both accounts added, but on my laptop the new account says 0 balance and the BC explorer shows there has only been 5 confirmations since I sent the funds last night.

I can see the transaction in my transactions list.

deleted my block.nxt and transactions.next file and replaced them with the latest files downloaded from the tutorial on this site and still the transaction is stuck on four confirmations. I was able to send the balance back to my original account but it still hasn't went any farther than than 4 confirmations for the initial transaction and it's not forging.

tried all kinds of stuff I found in the tutorial but and out of stuff to try to fix it. Also it doesn't seem like the client ever really stops even though I created the graceful stop batch file.

Ok, so this is how I fixed my problem when it came up.
Delete blocks and transactions (including the .bak files).
Now open up NXT again, and let it download the blockchain file again

HERE'S THE MOST IMPORTANT STEP:
DO NOT open up your account right away.
Let it run for 30 minutes to an hour to make sure it downloaded the blockchain completely, then open it once you think it finished downloading.
For some reason, the client gets stuck at whatever block you open it at.  I noticed this and it is a bug that needs to be fixed so the client will keep downloading the blockchain even if the account is opened.

Hope that helps.
