one passphrase...two account #s??

Hello. I made a next account and unlocked it with a passphrase that I made up. This generated an account number for me. I then sent coins from Dgex to this account. On the block explorer when I enter that account number I can see those coins sitting in the account. The problem is now when I go to localhost and enter my passphrase it opens an account with a different number; this account has no coins in it.

Can anyone help?

Is there a way to target a specific account for unlocking? I have both the account number and passphrase, why is the passphrase taking me to the wrong account number?

Thank you very much for any help. I'm just getting started with Nxt but it's one of my favorite currencies so far. I just wish I understood the client better.

Maybe you entered a little bit different password ... or it changed ?

E.g. if you copy+pasted it from a document, word processor might have changed the 1st letter, or ... or ...

well that's kind of mind blowing. It was pasted from a notepad document that I haven't changed...fighting the urge to complain. Very sad about lost nxt.

The money do exist in your 1st account as you saw them in block chain explorer.
If there is no new error in NRS, then the only possibility is that you entered a different pw.

Paste from notepad should be a sure way. And you have unlocked the 1st account many times, but now it doesn't go to the correct account anymore?

if you got the first address pasteing from notepad, do that again. try copying the enter before the address or add a space to the end.

You should consider using some password manager to avoid unwanted mistakes/changes of your password and assure better password security/protection.

That's why the most important pw's should be written down to paper or somehow it is stored outside of digital world.

Had the same problem and found the solution thanks to a suggestion from user HOB on another thread that is linked in this one. Like many others here, I thought the problem to be due to a client upgrade, but actually it was a copy and paste issue. Version 0.4.8 allowed me to copy and re-paste a portion of my passphrase within the client's passphrase dialog box. Future versions of the client would not allow me to cut and paste within the dialog box. So I ran the old client, entered the passphrase using the old copy and paste method, and walla, there were my Nxt. Upon retrieving them I immediately transferred the entire balance to another account. Looks like I owe HOB some Nxt.

If you are having this problem, the best suggestion is to try and retrace your copy/paste steps exactly.
