client forging issues has major bug.

hi I have been forging coins on windows 8 next ver5.11 but they never appear on the block chain explorer. The forged next appear on the block tab and into my wallet. I can reset my computer and the balance remains the same. This is a major bug and it really is pissing me off now as a basic user. It like buying a new car and it look all shiney and after a year you find it is a piece of shit. The will not do anything for the growth of next into the future if not corrected.

I can imagine you feel frustrated after not receiving forget Nextcoins.

It could be that you are on a forked blockchain, where you are the only one forging. Or in otherwords: you are not connected to the current stream of blocks with transactions anymore. Most likely this is the case, since it is quite difficult to get lots of Nextcoins while forging with a low amount of coins.

To check if this is the case, login to NRS, open the recent blocks page and check the base target for the latest block. If it has a percentage above 1000, you are most likely in a fork.

To recover from a fork: delete your old copy of NRS, download the latest NRS software, and use the new software. You will now download the latest blockchain.

I think also the short intervals between version changes isn't giving people enough time to upgrade and avoid getting stuck on a fork.  There seems to be many frequent version changes compared to other crypto currencies like Peercoin or Bitcoin.

I've been through 3 or 4 versions in the past 2 weeks meaning I have to wait 1440 blocks after each upgrade before I can start forging again.

I agree there have been a lot of versions last two weeks. However, you don't need to wait 1440 blocks after each upgrade. You just have to wait 1440 blocks for the extra amount of Nextcoins you received, after the Blockchain registers that your account received Nextcoins. If they are in your account for more then 24hours, you can reinstall the software and start forging right away .

Example:
Day 1 9PM: Balance=0 NXT - Forging with 0 NXT.
You receive 100 NXT in your account at day 1.
Day 1 10PM: Balance=100NXT - Forging with 0 NXT
Day 2  8PM: Balance=100NXT - Forging with 0 NXT
Day 2 10PM: Balance 100NXT - Forging with 100NXT (1440 blocks later with 1 block / minute)
