Hello, I would like to start my saying I've watch the tutorial video with steps to install client and create new account . I've also read the NXT Wiki
I' have successfully install the software and i'm able to view the gui via https://localhost:7875/, and 7874, and i use http://passwordsgenerator.net/ to generate a 32 character pw but nothing happens after i click the unlock icon and enter my secure pw, i have waitd up t o20 minutes and reloaded the page a few times, should i wait longer ? what could be the problem i download the lastest client and followed each step

What are you expecting to happen?
When you enter your secret passphrase and unlock your account, all you will see is your account number (in green) and a black bar at the top of your browser with four icons in the middle of it. Click the icons to toggle the appearance of the interface that they represent (transactions, peers, blocks, and accounts).
If you have not sent any transactions to your account, the transactions area will be blank.
The accounts area has not been implemented yet.
You should see some "active peers" in the peers area; if not, your software may not be talking to the network and you should make sure port 7874 is open on your firewall.
You should also see blocks being updated in the blocks area, with a timestamp that is within a few minutes of the current time. If not, it is possible that your software is not talking to any peers (this is where your software will get the blockchain!) or that there are issues with your blockchain files. Deleting the *.nxt files and restarting your software can help with that issue.
If you are typing in your secret passphrase and nothing at all is happening, you may have problems with your software. A re-install may help, but we can also help YOU better if you supply some key information:
