Operation claim your server! PeerExplorer.com

Jump in 500 caches filled with NXT ready to earn.

Introduction video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3RLNaohHMyI (thanks to "Tris rain" (reddit community))

What is PeerExplorer?

PeerExplorer is your gateway to NXTs server infrastructure. Be a part of building worlds most advanced decentralised open-source payment network. Peer owners and sponsors can benefit trough earning and advertising around NXT network. We never hold any of your NXT at anytime. Our system works as a secure escrow service by handing encrypted/decrypted account phrases from sponsors to peer owners.

Do i have to pay fees?

PeeExplorer is free of fees. Our business will sustain trough donations and future advertising. Sponsors and peer owners have the standard 1 NXT network transaction costs.

What is a cache?

We call this activity peercaching. Its a hide and seek game between sponsors and server owners. Claimed online servers will receive every 1 hour catches

How do you store NXT?

We never store sponsors or peers owners NXT. Everytime a cache is created, we generate a unique NXT account. Than we throw the wallet key literally away(encrypting), so we can make sure no one has access. If a peer owner earns the reward our system is restoring (decrypting) the phrase. Once in the system sponsors cant claim there NXT back.

Info for big sponsors:

if you dont want to add manualy a huge amount of nxt in form of caches. Just pm me i got a script ready, that could randomly split for example 10000 NXT to 2000 x 5 NXT transactions in couple of minutes and add it to peerexplorer.

Some thoughts:

Dear NXT community, i have to admit i was one month ago a bitcoin mining hardliner, the idea of having Pos coins around was the blank horror. Than i discovered the client, probably average people wouldnt even get it to run, but i was hooked the first moment when i was starting it the first time on a linux machine. Since that time im playing around with the api and the node itself. So i started a small site for scanning peers in the network. At one point i became frustrated... I read often in the forum about people that are willing to setup nodes but not really get rewarded for it. My opinion is also that in the NXT mesh different to bitcoin miners are not the backbone, its more likely the node owners. They decide what version will be running in the future and they also secure the uptime of the network. I think i found a delicate way to honor those, who setup some nice public peers. I will build in the next month more features on top of PeerExplorer. Please consider its free of use and still in alpha stages. There are also some notions that countrys with less servers can get more easy a reward. So the nodes would be spreading more globaly. At the moment most servers are in the USA. I will address with PeerExplorer not the average user yet, it will be a platform for public peer owners. If you cant find your server, its most likely you dont run a public node and sitting behing some firewall or not using NXTs standard port.

If you have questions ask in the official peerexplorer thread or here. Detailed answers you will also get from the FAQ @ PeerExplorer.com

I would be happy to get feedback... there is also small bountys if you find major bugs.

Good initiative!

I don't really understand it, but I am going to set up a node myself (with some help).

(noob-question: is a peer the same as a node?)

From what I have gathered, node owner can register their IP. Set an auth in the config. And the server is claimed.
From this point they can find a bounty every hour????
The bounties are sponsored by other users which can advertise in the treasure chest.
I`ve just found one this day with 50 coins in it as I registered my peer.
